Easter Sunday

After I got the news Sunday of the sudden passing of my cousins 5 year old son, I have become aware of so many blessings in relation to Easter and the sacrifice of Christ for us. The most important blessings being first and foremost the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The second being the happiness and blessing my children are in my life. I know that we can always be together, that our family doesn't stop once we leave earth. I am so thankful for my children and my husband. It's hard for me to even imagine the pain my cousin must be feeling and my heart goes out to her. The rest of the day I watched my children and was more aware of their every move and cute gestures. My children are a precious gift from above and I am so thankful for them.

Rascal Flatts

So Donovan took me to Rascal Flatts last weekend for my birthday. I think that was the best date this year. I also think Donovan was thinking I was just a little wild. I love their music and it was way fun. Towards the end they played their song"He ain't the Leavin kind." At the end of the song they showed video clip of gravesides with flags. Then they turned the lights on and 10-20 military men were standing there. Wow, everyone got up and applauded. I began to think about this girl in our ward who is now pregnant with her third and her husband is gone serving our country. What a sacrifice and I appreciate it soooo much. I am so thankful for my freedoms and safety.

One funny part about the concert was leaving. We got on trax to get back to our car downtown. Everyone that was on trax had just come from the concert. One of the last songs was "Life is a Highway." Everyone was singing that song outloud on the trax train. We were all laughing and had a blast. JT would have loved being on that train with everyone singing his favorite song.

Baby Bear

The boys went to Sportman Warehouse to see the baby bear brought from yellowstone. They got to hold it and get their picture taken with it. Nate didn't really know what to think. I don't think he really likes anything that looks like a baby. He gets jealous real easy.

This is Fun!

It might be cold, and there might be snow on parts of the driveway (although you can't see it in this picture.) But we don't care. These kids are anxious to be outside, come spring or not.

Zoo Funnies

So I was a little picture happy at the zoo last week. Nate and JT haven't been for a year or so. After lunch, Nate saw a bench and went and climbed up on it. I told JT to go and sit next to him so I could get a cute picture of the both of them. As soon as JT sat down, Nate climbed off the bench, and I asked him to get back up (why bother-he never listens to me). Then JT says "Mom, it's just a bench."

When we went to go see the black bears we couldn't see them. I said "I guess the black bears are hiding." Then this girl who was probably four turned around and said "They're habernating." Like, don't you know that bears "habernate?" Her mom turned around and was laughing. I guess it's just me that thinks winter is over.... or should be.

Zoo Lunch

So when we got to the the zoo, the first thing JT wanted to do was go on a train ride. But can you guess what he wanted to do next? Of course, eat lunch. I've determined that my boys have endless pits to which they think they always need to eat. And Nate is worse than JT. He ate his whole corndog and started downing his fries--before I decided enough is enough for someone 20 months of age. I know how big that stomach is, and it's not that big. JT got this cute alligator squirt bottle with his favorite -rootbeer.

Momma and Baby

I took the boys to Hogle zoo last week and we got to see the new baby giraffe. I was able to capture this cool picture of the both of them together in the sunlight. Nate and JT loved the giraffes. Nate kept yelling through the fence--"hi, hi!" and waving his hands.

Twilight Mom

Okay, so I've been totally useless this last week. Can you imagine why??? Yep, you're right. I got stuck reading the best books ever--or the cheesiest books ever. But I still love them and would read them over and over again. With all the vampires, wherewolves, and romance and all. After hearing the girls at work rave about Twilight I thought I would give it a try and I bought it on Amazon back in September. I read the first 100 pages... too boring for me. But last week decided to pick it up and finish it even if it killed me. I'm not going to waste my money. I got to page 200 and couldn't put it down. I needed the sequel and the sequel after that. Now I need the sequel coming in August. I've already preordered it. Better yet, they are making Twilight into a movie. It comes out December 12th. And you better believe it, I will be the first in line. I was thinking I was crazy-especially when I had to go to the young adult section in the library. But then I didn't feel so crazy when I figured out I'm not the only one who is so into these books. I thought it was my little secret besides work friends. To find out all of my friends have read these books too. Thanks a lot. Would you let me know when good things like this come a long a little sooner?

My Birthday

Well, it's happening. I'm suddenly going down hill. Heidi was right. After 30, our bodies age quicker than ever. This last year, I've noticed gray hairs I've never had before, more excuses to not exercize, junk food never tasted so good, and I think I'm losing my mind at times. At that, it was a great day and I enjoyed being with my family.

Look Mom!

Yep, it happened. The first tooth is now expelled, and behind it grows a tooth the size of two baby teeth. While in sacrament meeting on Sunday JT told me he was going to pull his loose tooth out. I told him it wasn't a good time. So, when we got home he was able to pull it out. Good job JT! The tooth fairy brought him a dollar and JT asked why did the tooth fairy only bring me a dollar? Oh, great!

What happened to the pizza?

This is what happens to the food when I go to work and Donovan is left to cook. Actually he is a great cook and the pizza actually was good, but it looked a little strange.

JT's Work of Art

JT won a reflection contest a school this last fall. The theme was "I can make a difference by..." JT painted a picture of himself helping his dad rake leaves. He painted leaves of all sorts of colors. The big brown thing in the middle is the rake.
