What was suppose to be a normal 18 month check up with a new pediatrician turned into a diagnosis for Nate. We found out at after a couple of x-rays and a CT scan that Nate has a rare congenital syndrome called Klippel-Feil Syndrome. Basically he has 3 cervical vertabrae that are fused. He doesn't have any of the other problems that this syndrome comes with. Thank goodness. But the neurosurgeon is going to check up on him yearly to make sure his neck doesn't get worse--or he will be having surgery to stabilize his neck to his head. Hopefully that will never happen and it shouldn't. I geuss my children aren't perfect after all.
